30TH ANNIVERSARY ALUMNI REUNION CONCERT
We are capping off its landmark 30th season by celebrating with a special Alumni Reunion Concert! This concert will feature YOGC musicians from the last thirty years and will be conducted by YOGC’s long-standing Music Director and Conductor, Jim Palmer. SUMMER STRING CAMP CONCERT
Come support our string students by attending our Summer String Camp Final Concert at 2pm on Saturday, June 8th at Rainey McCuller's! We will be featuring the various ensembles created throughout the week-long camp, including a Chamber Orchestra, String Orchestra, Violin Ensemble, Cello Choir, and String Quartet!
ELVIS SYMPHONIC
TRIBUTE CONCERT
"Playing for Good" is partnering the YOGC, in addition to Paws Humane Society, to produce two benefit concerts on May 18, 2024. “The King is Back,” brings Elvis Presley 2021 Ultimate Tribute Artist Patrick Dunn to The Springer Opera House stage for a rock & roll night filled with orchestral arrangements of Elvis’ greatest hits. The Springer stage will be filled with musicians from the YOGC, performing alongside professional musicians from the Chattahoochee Valley, and conducted by the show’s creator, Dr. Bryan English, of Dallas, TX. A 4-piece rhythm section & back-up singers, along with a special appearance by local gospel quartet, Solid Rock, will recreate the unforgettable sound of Elvis in concert.
"THIRD AND THIRTY"
We are ending our thirtieth season with a BANG!
For this program, each orchestra will perform selections from the past decade and will also have the honor of being the first orchestra to play our very own Mr. Palmer's composition, "Opus 30." Mr. Palmer is in the process of composing this piece in honor of the orchestra's 30th anniversary, and we could not be more honored to take part in this special world premiere!
"SECOND & TWENTY"
To celebrate the second decade of the YOGC, we are bringing back an annual favorite - the beloved Pops Concert!
This concert will feature music from some of your favorite John Williams films, including Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, and of course - Star Wars. You don't want to miss the fun we are going to have this evening!
"FIRST AND TEN"
Help us celebrate our first thirty years by attending our season opener on November 14th!
This concert will feature our founding conductor, Dawna Demster, and music will include Verdi’s Overture to Nabucco, Smetana’s Themes From The Moldau, Mascagni’s Prelude and Siciliano, and Bizet’s infamous L’Arlesienne’s Suite No. 2.
